Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?
Satoshi Nakamoto is the pseudonymous person or group of people who created Bitcoin, the world’s first decentralized cryptocurrency, and authored its original white paper in 2008 titled “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System.” Nakamoto also developed the first version of the Bitcoin software and mined the first blocks of the Bitcoin blockchain in early 2009. Despite extensive speculation, the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto has never been publicly confirmed — it remains one of the biggest mysteries in the tech and financial world. Nakamoto’s estimated Bitcoin holdings are believed to exceed one million BTC, which, depending on the market price, could be worth tens of billions of dollars.
